Actor Gary Busey, 81, pleads guilty to sex crime

This week, actor Gary Busey, perhaps best known for his roles in the “Buddy Holly Story,” “Under Siege,” and “Predator 2,” pleaded guilty to one count of criminal sexual contact. The 81-year-old actor’s sex offense dates back to his appearance at an August 2022 horror convention in New Jersey, where several women accused him of inappropriately touching them at the Monster-Mania Convention at the Doubletree Hotel in Cherry Hill, according to First Post.
Busey’s Manager, Ron Sampson, said on Friday that the actor admitted to touching a woman’s buttocks “over clothing during an 8-10 second photo op.”
CBS News reports that Busey had been accused of inappropriately touching at least three women at the Monster-Mania Convention. Following the accusations, organizers at the convention reported that “an unnamed celebrity guest was removed from the convention and instructed not to return” and that affected attendees were encouraged to contact police.
Things could have been a lot worse for Busey as he was originally charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, one count of attempted criminal sexual contact and one count of harassment. Those additional charges were dropped as part of a plea deal.
