Arrest made in the Clear Spring murder of 30-year-old Paige Grove

On Friday, May 16, 2025, at approximately 8:30 AM, deputies from Maryland’s Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) responded to North Mill Street in Clear Spring, Maryland, after receiving a call regarding a death investigation. Once on the scene, deputies discovered a deceased female, later identified as 30-year-old Paige Grove. Deputies said they quickly determined that Paige’s death was the result of a homicide.
At 9:12 AM, a suspect was located and arrested in the Clear Spring area. The suspect, 32-year-old Taylor Andrew Rowles, has been charged with:
- 1 count of First-Degree Murder,
- 1 count of Second-degree murder,
- 1 count of First-Degree Assault, and
- 1 count of Second-Degree Assault.
Rowles is currently being held without bond at the Washington County Detention Center.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone in the Clear Spring area who has surveillance footage of a suspicious male walking through town between May 15, 2025, at 3:40 PM and May 16, 2025, at 9:00 AM, contact Det SGT Glines at 240-313-2886 or by email at bglines@washco-md.net.
