Baltimore man arrested weeks after stabbing leaves victim seriously wounded on Dolfield Avenue

(March 13, 2026) Yesterday, police in Baltimore City reported on a February 1, 2026, incident that went down at approximately 4:40 p.m. when patrol officers responded to Saint Agnes Hospital for a report of a walk-in cutting victim. Once there, officers located a 51-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his upper body.
Detectives quickly learned that the victim was assaulted with a sharp-edged weapon while in the 3900 block of Dolfield Avenue, following a dispute with a male suspect.
During the course of their investigation, Northwest District detectives were able to identify the assailant as 45-year-old Floyd Best Jr. of Baltimore.
On March 11, 2026, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested Floyd Best Jr. after catching up with him in the 6500 block of Frankford Avenue. Best Jr. was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he has been charged with Attempting First Degree Murder.
