HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. — A Calvert County man is being held without bond after Maryland State Police investigators arrested him on multiple child exploitation charges following a lengthy investigation conducted by the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

Authorities identified the suspect as Jurel Daquone Leo Bowman, 32, of Lusby, Maryland. Bowman has been charged with six counts of sexual solicitation of a minor, according to the Maryland State Police.

Investigators allege the case began in November 2025, when members of the Maryland ICAC Task Force launched an investigation into the reported sexual exploitation of a minor. After gathering evidence over several months, detectives obtained an arrest warrant.

Bowman was taken into custody shortly before 9 p.m. on July 2 at his workplace in Harford County. Maryland State Police said the arrest was carried out without incident by investigators from the Maryland State Police Child Exploitation Unit, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

Following his arrest, Bowman was transported to the Harford County Detention Center, where he remains held without bond pending further court proceedings.

The Maryland State Police Child Exploitation Unit oversees the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a collaborative partnership involving federal, state and local law enforcement agencies dedicated to investigating online child exploitation offenses. The task force receives support through grants from the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth and Victim Services and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Officials say investigators continue to pursue individuals who use the internet and other digital platforms to exploit children and remain committed to identifying offenders and protecting vulnerable victims.

The investigation remains ongoing. As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
