Career felon, 70-years-old, busted one more time on multiple drug and firearm charges

On the morning of May 23, Detectives with the Special Investigations Division (SID), in coordination with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, executed a narcotics-related search warrant at a residence located in the 200 block of Holden Terrace.
The subject of the investigation, 70-year-old Izaiah West of Port St. Lucie, is a five-time convicted felon. The elderly career criminal was wanted on an active warrant related to prior narcotics investigations involving the sale, delivery, or possession of cocaine with intent to sell. In addition to the outstanding warrant, West now faces multiple new charges, including:
- Two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell (Schedule I)
- One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell (Schedule II)
- Three counts of Possession and/or Use of Drug Paraphernalia, and
- Two counts of Possession of a Weapon or Ammunition by a Convicted Felon

Detectives recovered the following firearms, narcotics, and paraphernalia:
- Ruger 9mm handgun
- Winchester .22 caliber rifle
- Remington 870 shotgun
- Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun
- Double-barrel shotgun (unknown make/model)
- Assorted ammunition and loaded magazines

- Crack cocaine
- Powder cocaine
- Flakka
- Marijuana
- Drug distribution materials, including baggies, digital scales, and other paraphernalia
“This operation is yet another example of our commitment to keeping St. Lucie County safe,” said Sheriff Richard Del Toro. “If you’re dealing poison in our neighborhoods or arming yourself illegally, we will find you, and we will hold you accountable. Our residents deserve to feel safe, and we will continue doing whatever it takes to protect them.”
