(July 16, 2025) At approximately 1:35 p.m. today, Maryland’s Harford County Sheriff’s Office posted a home surveillance photo and requested the community’s assistance in identifying the individual shown in the picture.

Law enforcement officials say that the man in the photograph was involved in a recent scam, impersonating an employee of a local garage door company and showing up unexpectedly at a residence in the Bel Air area, demanding payment.

According to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:

  • If you recognize this suspect or have been the victim of this same scam, please call the Northern Precinct at (410) 692-7880.
  • Also, please remember to always verify someone’s identity when they claim to represent or work for a business or public utility company such as BGE.
  • If something doesn’t feel right, it most likely means it’s a scam. Trust your gut and give us a call to report any suspicious activity.
