Ex-soldier with a houseful of drugs and weapons charged with stalking and video voyeurism of ex-girlfriend
On September 5, Florida’s Martin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Detectives, along with their SWAT Team and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), executed a search warrant in Palm City that began with a woman filing a stalking complaint.
That complaint evolved into a voyeurism investigation; and detectives determined that 38-year-old Jared Levi MacDaniels placed hidden cameras behind a mask in his home, He allegedly recorded his victim naked without her knowledge. That victim was his girlfriend at the time.

He also placed a tracking device on his female victim’s vehicle.
During the search of MacDaniels’ Palm City home, detectives uncovered a surprising trove of weapons, including suppressors.
Fox 29 News quoted Sheriff John Budensiek as saying that most of the weapons seized at MacDaniels’ Palm City home were “self-built.”
“He built them, it looks like himself, they’re not serialized, so they’re not trackable through any kind of system, which is not illegal necessarily, but we don’t know what he was going to do with the guns,” said Budensiek.

The Sheriff also confirmed that MacDaniels is a former military member. A search of his home also produced a large quantity of narcotics, including:
- LSD
- Crystal methamphetamine
- Psilocybin mushrooms
- THC gummies
- Various inhalants
MacDaniels has been charged with:
- Installation of a tracking device
- Video voyeurism
- Possession of psilocybin with intent
- Possession of crystal methamphetamine
- Possession of LSD
- Possession of a substituted cathinone
- Possession of THC gummies
- Possession of dangerous inhalant chemicals
- Additional charges pending the results of the state’s prescription monitoring program (E-FORCSE)
The ATF will be pursuing additional weapons-related charges as this case continues to develop. MacDaniels is currently being held in the Martin County Jail without bond.
