Martin County drug dealer known as the ‘Candyman’ shut down by detectives

On April 29, Florida’s Martin County Sheriff’s Office announced that one of their long-term investigations resulted in the arrests of two individuals deeply connected to narcotics sales throughout the County. One of those now behind bars is a woman known by her clients as the “Candyman.”
In an operation dubbed “Operation Tooth Fairy”, detectives identified 41-year-old Julianne C. Perez, AKA “Candyman,” and 28-year-old Dillon James Clark as major distributors of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamines, and other illegal drugs. Perez packaged fentanyl in small folds resembling candy wrappers, often dyeing the narcotics in bright colors to further disguise them.

Officials say that Perez was fully aware of the danger her product posed, admitting it was strong enough to kill. Laboratory testing confirmed the drugs contained xylazine and para-fluorofentanyl — substances even more lethal than fentanyl itself.

Detectives learned that Perez had developed a steady customer base in Martin County, with individuals often seen waiting outside her residence for drugs. When a search warrant was executed, Perez attempted to hide narcotics in her private areas in an effort to avoid detection. Despite those efforts, trafficking amounts of narcotics were recovered; and Perez admitted to her drug trafficking activities.
The “Candyman” was booked into the Martin County Jail following medical clearance.
Over the course of the investigation, the following narcotics were seized and removed from Martin County streets:
- 278.6 grams of fentanyl
- 83.2 grams of cocaine
- 136.4 grams of methamphetamines
- 42 oxycodone pills
The Sheriff’s Office praised their Special Investigations Section for successfully targeting those who flood the streets with deadly drugs and for dismantling dangerous networks within the community.
