Mother charged with her 6-year-old son’s murder after claiming he was possessed by demons

On May 30, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., deputies with the St. Luci County Sheriff’s Office in South Florida responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Bedford Drive in Fort Pierce to conduct a welfare check at the request of a School Resource Deputy at Samuel S. Gaines Academy – following concerns that a six-year-old boy hadn’t been to school, or seen, since May 14. Upon their arrival at the home, deputies made contact with the child’s mother, who directed them to a bedroom inside the home. Deputies found the child in his bed – and deceased.
And, if the story isn’t tragic enough already, it takes an even darker and horrific turn.
The child’s mother, 41-year-old Rhonda Paulynice, said that her son, Ra’myl Pierre, had been dead for about two weeks, that he was possessed by demons, and that his death meant that the demons had left his body and she was just waiting around for him to come back to life. According to the deputies, the mother told them that she last spoke to her son on Sunday, May 18, which is when they believe was also the day he died.
According to Sheriff Del Toro, the mother said she was allegedly being told by God to exorcise demons from her son’s body. He said she allegedly attempted to preserve the body in some form after death. ~ WPTV
An autopsy has been scheduled for today to determine the little boy’s cause of death, according to WPEC. Meanwhile, officials ae treating the child’s death as a homicide. The mother has already been charged with her son’s second-degree murder and was also charged with failure to report a death, and, altering a body after it was deceased. She is currently in jail and being held without bond,
