NFL suspends former Baltimore Ravens placekicker Justin Tucker

On June 26, the National Football League announced that former Baltimore Ravens’ placekicker and golden boy Justin Tucker, now a somewhat tarnished free agent looking for a team, has been suspended without pay for the first 10 weeks of the 2025 regular season for violations of the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. Tucker’s suspension will take effect on roster cutdown day, August 26. He and he will be eligible for reinstatement on Tuesday, November 11.
Tucker is currently in the middle of an off-the-field controversy after 16 massage therapists from eight different Baltimore spa and wellness centers accused him of inappropriate behavior during alleged incidents that took place between 2012 and 2016. Tucker denied all the allegations in multiple statements, calling them “unequivocally false.” ~ Fox News Sports
According to the NFL, Tucker may serve his suspension while not being under contract with a club. Tucker remains free to try out and sign with a team; if he is signed during the offseason, he may attend training camp and participate in preseason games.
During Tucker’s 13 seasons with Baltimore, he earned the rep as being one of the best placekickers of all time – having been named to seven Pro Bowls and five first-team All-Pros, and helping the Ravens go to victory in Super Bowl XLVII. He still holds the NFL record for longest field goal (66 yards) and career field goal percentage (89.1%).
Tucker nailed that 66-yard game-winning kick on September 26, 2021, against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field in Detroit. As with many of his field goals, It was a dramatic moment. Tucker’s kick hit the crossbar and bounced through as time expired, lifting the Ravens to a 19–17 victory. That boot didn’t just win the game; it etched his name into the record books.
Tucker’s golden boy persona began to lose some of its sheen with lackluster seasons in 2023 and 2024, with things going steadily downhill for him personally and professionally when those massage therapists’ allegations became public.
The Ravens parted ways with Tucker in the spring of 2025. For more on the story, see the video accompanying this article.
