On September 21, Sheriff Wayne Ivey of Florida’s Brevard County Sheriff’s Office reported on the arrest of a criminal his department was already familiar with due to prior transgressions.  Reportedly, deputies responded to a call for service at a local establishment in Cape Canaveral after employees saw a man trying to break into vehicles in their parking lot by pulling on car door handles.

When a deputy arrived at the location, he found the man – later identified as Michael Floyd – sitting in the passenger seat of a truck and rummaging through the glove box.  The deputy addressed the man, “…  and instead of following the simplest of directions, Floyd decided to run for it which didn’t work out too well for him!!”

As Floyd was running off, the deputy verbally warned him that he was going to get tased.  Because the subject was not following the deputy’s instructions – he did in fact get tased.

At that point Floyd stopped, however he then decided to continue his shenanigans, yelling at everyone as they were trying to remove the taser probes and at one point he even tried to kick one of our Deputies which is a bad mistake here in Brevard County!!

Oh and just to seal the deal, Floyd decided to expel some bodily fluids from his nose onto one of our Deputies who was helping to restrain him which didn’t go so well for him. ~ Sheriff Wayne Ivey

Deputies subsequently learned that not only did Floyd break into one vehicle, but he also caused damage to two other ones as well.  After being cleared at the hospital following his tasing, Floyd was transported to the Brevard County Jail Complex (a.k.a. “Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge”,) where Floyd is already well known.  Turns out, he had just been released from that detention center a day earlier.

“In fact, if you watched our most recent episode of “HIT The Streets” then you may remember Floyd as he yelled at us like a little baby for ruining his life after we pulled him over and he had cocaine in his car,” said Ivey.

Following his most recent arrest, Floyd was charged with Burglary of a Vehicle, Criminal Mischief, Resisting Without Violence, and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer.  He is currently incarcerated on a “held without bond” status
