‘Brutal rapist’ Bruce Whitehead captured and arrested after four-day Florida manhunt

Florida’s Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) has been on the hunt since December 10 for a man they described as a ”brutal rapist.” Deputies said that 54-year-old Bruce Whitehead “raped and mutilated a woman off Pine Hills Road near North Lane on Dec. 10.” The Sheriff’s Office asked that if anyone knew anything about Whitehead’s whereabouts to call Central Florida Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477, and “If you spot him, to call 911 immediately.”

Whitehead was wanted for armed sexual battery, armed kidnapping and attempted murder for that sexual assault in Pine Hills, which is located just north of Orlando .

And you can almost feel the glee from the Sheriff’s Office Facebook post yesterday when they said,”CAPTURED and heading to jail! Bruce Whitehead, who raped and tried to murder a woman Dec. 10, was caught thanks to a tip at 7 a.m. today from an observant resident.”

“Perp-Walk” – Attached to the post above was the following video showing two deputies escorting Whitehead to a patrol car waiting to take him to prison.

According to deputies, the rape and mutilation of Whitehead’s victim went down around 4 a.m. last Saturday. Thankfully, the woman managed to escape from her rapist after he beat her and sexually assaulted her.

“After he sexually battered her, he attempted to murder the victim,” a deputy with the sheriff’s office said. “The victim bravely fought him off and was able to escape to a nearby subdivision where bystanders assisted her.” ~ MSN

Whitehead should feel right at home behind bars. According to the Sheriff’s Office, he spent 20 years in prison for a rape/attempted murder back in the 1980s. For more on the stiory, see the videos below.
