Thieving house cleaners cleaned out their victims in Palm Beach County

(May 14, 2025) This morning, detectives with Florida’s Broward Sheriff’s Office announced that a pair of house cleaners did more than tidy up the homes of some of their clients. They also stripped victims of their precious jewelry, cash and valuables. Now, detectives are hoping more victims come forward to identify some of the recovered stolen items.
Background: On Monday, May 5, detectives served a search warrant at the home of Oscar German Munoz and Martha Cecilia Molano in Coral Springs. They recovered hundreds of items belonging to victims including necklaces, rings, watches, earrings, gems, coins and cash. Some of the recovered items are pictured above.
The investigation into the cleaners began in early April when an elderly couple living in the Yardley community in Tamarac reported the theft of thousands of dollars of valuables from their home. The investigation by detectives led to Munoz and Molano, who were seen on surveillance video waiting for the victims to leave their residence, ascending the staircase to their home with cleaning supplies and then exiting the victims’ home a short time later.
Further investigation revealed a pattern of burglaries in the community under similar circumstances and methods. In all, detectives believe there may have been dozens of burglaries where the couple preyed on elderly or affluent victims under the guise of being trusted housecleaners. The investigation also revealed that the suspects sold stolen jewelry at pawn shops and used the proceeds to fund lavish trips abroad.
Detectives arrested Munoz and Molano on charges of burglary of an unoccupied structure and grand theft between $750-$5,000 that occurred in July 2022. The investigation into the pair is active and ongoing, and they are believed to have cleaned homes elsewhere in Tamarac and in Palm Beach County. If you believe you’ve been a victim, please contact BSO Detective Danny Polo at 954-720-2225.
Detectives also urge consumers to be educated before hiring a house cleaner or anyone to do work in your home. Consumers should research companies online, check to see if the business is licensed and insured, ask for references and get several estimates prior to hiring a company.
