(June 27, 2025)  This morning, Florida’s Edgewater Police Department announced that, back in 2023, after being arrested for violent offenses at a local business, Jeffrey Randall’s dogs were taken into care by the Edgewater Animal Shelter. Despite the circumstances, dedicated shelter staff provided the animals with medical care, compassion, and a second chance — ultimately placing them into loving homes in accordance with Florida law and shelter policies.

What followed was a sustained and terrifying campaign of threats and harassment by Randall against the Animal Shelter Director and staff. Randall’s disturbing messages — filled with violent and hateful language — were relentless. Despite repeated arrests, the harassment continued.

Yesterday, June 26, after a thorough investigation and successful prosecution by the State Attorney, Florida’s 7th Circuit, Jeffrey Randall was convicted of Aggravated Stalking and sentenced to 24 months state prison in the Florida Department of Corrections.

Police reported that they were relieved that the shelter team can finally breathe easier.

Randall is where he belongs — behind bars — and most importantly, his dogs are now thriving in safe, loving homes.  To those who serve our community every day, including our animal shelter staff: your courage, professionalism, and compassion do not go unnoticed. Edgewater stands with you. ~ Edgewater PD
