On August 8, Florida’s Collier County Sheriff’s Office announced that a 47-year-old previously convicted felon is in jail after a CCSO investigation found she was selling the deadly drug, fentanyl.  Faith Ann Martin of Naples faces fentanyl trafficking charges following her arrest on Thursday.

It turns out that Martin is no stranger to Florida law enforcement. Vice and Narcotics Bureau detectives said she is a well-known drug dealer with an extensive criminal history that includes 39 arrests in Collier County, mostly narcotics related.

“Thanks to the hard work of our detectives, we’ve removed a dangerous individual from our community and potentially saved lives,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into an individual possibly selling narcotics in Collier County. The investigation led to Martin’s arrest on two counts of fentanyl trafficking.

Fentanyl is powerful synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. It is often mixed into other drugs in the illicit drug market. Just a tiny amount can cause a fatal overdose.
