Two arrested in connection with Vero Beach drug bust
Throughout the month of September 2025, Florida’s Vero Beach Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit conducted an investigation into a reputed drug house located in the 400 block of 19th Lane in the city’s Oakmont Park section. Police were looking into the reported usage and sales of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl coming from that residence.
The police department’s investigation came to a head on Thursday, September 25, when members of the Vero Beach Police Department’s Critical Response Team executed a search warrant at the residence. As a result, two individuals were taken into custody:
- Gregory Chaney, 50, was charged with Tampering with Evidence, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
- Cassie Murillo, 46, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The Vero Beach Police Department shared a reminder with their community that they remain committed “to protecting our community by aggressively investigating illegal narcotics activity and holding those responsible accountable. Fentanyl and other dangerous narcotics pose a serious threat to public safety, and we encourage residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police. Working together, we can help keep our neighborhoods safe.”
