Detectives with the Volusia Sheriff’s Office (VSO) East Volusia Narcotics Task Force shut down an alleged drug operation in Daytona Beach on December 20, arresting a man authorities describe as a well-known local trafficker—just months after his release from prison.

According to investigators, Danny Smith was under active investigation when deputies obtained probable cause to search his residence in the 100 block of Seabreeze Manor Court. The warrant was executed with the assistance of VSO SWAT, underscoring the level of risk investigators believed was involved.

Inside the home, deputies reportedly uncovered a large cache of narcotics, firearms, and ammunition. After being advised of his Miranda rights, Smith admitted to trafficking drugs, according to law enforcement officials.

Smith, who was released from prison in April 2025, now faces a lengthy list of felony charges, including trafficking fentanyl and amphetamines, multiple counts of illegal firearm possession by a convicted felon, possession of a bulletproof vest during the commission of a felony, theft of a firearm, cocaine possession, cannabis possession, and maintaining a residence used for drug trafficking.

Also arrested at the scene was Smith’s girlfriend, 24-year-old Dravin Issacs. She was charged with narcotics possession and a probation violation and was booked into the Volusia County jail without bond. Records show Issacs was previously arrested in October 2023 on charges related to child abuse and neglect.

The investigation remains ongoing.
