17-year-old girl reported missing from Montgomery County

(January 8, 2026) Yesterday, Maryland’s Montgomery County Police Department along with the National Center For Missing and Endangered, Inc. (NCME) both sent out public notices asking for the public’s assistance to help locate a missing teen. 

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division and officials from NCME are asking for the public’s help in locating Araceli Elizabeth Mena Pineda, a missing 17-year-old from Silver Spring.

Police say that Araceli was last seen in the 11500 block of Lamberton Court in Silver Spring, Maryland, around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, 01/04/2026.

Officials provided the following description of Araceli, and the missing person’s poster below.

  • Height: 5’04”
  • Weight: 120 lbs.
  • Black Hair
  • Brown Eyes

Today marks Day 5 that Araceli has been missing, and that’s much too long.  Let’s help bring her home.

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of 17-year-old Araceli Elizabeth Mena Pineda is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Department at 301-279-8000.
