Kenan & Kel together again for upcoming film: ‘Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein’

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, the beloved comedy duo who first captured audiences as youngsters on Nickelodeon, are teaming up again for an all-new horror-comedy feature titled “Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein” — a film announced yesterday that blends nostalgia, slapstick, and scares.
The project — set to begin production in summer 2026 — will be written by Jonah Feingold (“At Midnight,” “31 Candles”) and co-produced by Thompson and Mitchell alongside partners from Artists for Artists and Range Media Partners.
Synopsis: Reportedly, the horror-comedy follows two delivery drivers whose routine job becomes a terrifying ordeal after a stop at a spooky, out-of-place castle awakens Frankenstein’s monster — forcing the duo into an unpredictable fight for survival. The film is explicitly inspired by the Abbott and Costello “Meet…” monster movies of the mid-20th century, a cheeky homage that pairs classic creature-feature elements with the duo’s signature humor.

From Nickelodeon Teens to Comedy Mainstays: Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell’s partnership began in the mid-1990s on Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy series“All That”, where their chemistry quickly earned them fan favorite status. Their popularity led to the spin-off sitcom “Kenan & Kel” (1996–2000), known for its rapid-fire humor and catchphrases like Kel’s iconic “Aww, here it goes!”.
The pair also headlined the 1997 cult comedy “Good Burger,” a theatrical adaptation of an All That sketch which became a staple for ’90s kids. They later reunited for “Good Burger 2” in 2023, a streaming sequel that reignited interest in their collaborative work.

Since their early Nickelodeon success:
- Kenan Thompson has become one of the longest-tenured cast members on Saturday Night Live, bringing his comedic chops to a broad adult audience.
- Kel Mitchell has maintained a steady presence in television and entertainment, appearing in family and comedy projects and continuing to leverage his Nickelodeon legacy.
Their latest venture, Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein, marks a rare full-length feature where they will both star and serve as producers, signaling a creative evolution from child actors to seasoned industry creators. Fans should expect updates throughout 2026 as the film advances toward production.
