Road Rage turns dangerous in Harford County: Belcamp woman arrested

A 39-year-old Belcamp woman is facing serious charges following a tense road rage incident on Interstate 95 last month that escalated when police say that she pointed a handgun at another driver. Brittney Ledbetter, 39, now charged with first and second-degree assault, as well as multiple firearm-related offenses, was arrested over the weekend.
Described by police as an act of road rage, the incident went down on January 31 on southbound I-95 near Maryland 24, when Ledbetter, who was driving a Buick Enclave, reportedly pointed a handgun at the victim while engaged in an altercation with that victim’s vehicle. While the victim was unharmed, the frightening confrontation prompted an investigation by the Maryland State Police Highway Gun Crimes Initiative.
After identifying Ledbetter as the gun-brandishing suspect, authorities executed a search warrant at her residence on February 1, recovering the firearm. She was released on bond after appearing before a district court commissioner.
The investigation is ongoing, with police continuing to probe other highway gun violence cases. Anyone with information is urged to contact Maryland State Police at 410-538-1887. Tips can remain anonymous.
