(February 9, 2026) A 24-year-old Maryland woman is behind bars after a shocking elevator assault at a local Harford County hotel, where she allegedly brandished a circular saw and threatened a hotel employee.
At approximately 12:30 p.m. on February 7, officers from the Aberdeen Police Department were called to the 900 block of Hospitality Way following a report of an aggravated assault. The investigation revealed that Ananda Pollard, from Chevy Chase, entered an elevator with a 43-year-old hotel worker when she suddenly pulled out a circular saw from her bag. In a chilling move, Pollard exposed the blade and pressed it to the employee’s neck.
The employee bravely fought back, managing to grab Pollard’s arm, preventing any serious harm. However, the worker sustained a minor cut to the left side of their face before the altercation ended.
Pollard was arrested without incident and charged with two counts of assault and reckless endangerment. She is currently being held without bail. Authorities have not provided any details regarding the motive for the violent outburst.
This unsettling event has left the local community shaken, and the investigation remains ongoing.
