A West Palm Beach grandmother is fighting for her life after authorities say her grandson stabbed her 11 times during a violent outburst on Mother’s Day.

According to police, the attack went down on Sunday afternoon at a home on 52nd Street after a family dispute escalated. Investigators say 29-year-old Keo Nottage became enraged when relatives asked him to help bring in groceries for a planned Mother’s Day dinner.

Witnesses reported he allegedly threatened, “Someone is going to die today,” before going into the kitchen, grabbing a knife, and repeatedly stabbing his grandmother.

Emergency responders transported the victim to St. Mary’s Hospital as a trauma alert, with multiple stab wounds to her torso, shoulder, and arm. She remains in intensive care following surgery, and authorities say it is still unclear whether she will survive.

Police say the violence did not end there. Nottage is also accused of chasing his cousin with the knife when the relative attempted to intervene and call for help. The cousin reportedly managed to stop Nottage from fleeing, resulting in a physical struggle that left the cousin injured.

Officers arriving at the scene found the suspect and the cousin in an altercation. Nottage was taken into custody and later charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

During his initial court appearance, authorities say Nottage caused multiple interruptions before being removed from the courtroom. He is being held without bond pending further proceedings.

Court records indicate prior incidents at the home involving Nottage, with family members previously citing concerns about his mental health. The investigation remains ongoing.
