Harford County woman dies after being trapped beneath flipped lawnmower

Tragedy struck yesterday in Fallston, Maryland, when a woman mowing her lawn flipped her mower into a drainage ravine and became hopelessly trapped underneath the machine.  The fatal accident occurred in the 2300 block of Willow Vale Dr. in Fallston on May 2, according to NBC News.

The Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company and Harford County Department of Emergency Services EMS Division were dispatched to the scene at approximately 5:15 p.m. yesterday after receiving the initial 911 call. When the first responders arrived, they were met with neighbors on the scene who were already performing CPR on the accident victim. It’s unknown exactly what time the accident happened, and how long the woman had been trapped under her lawnmower before help arrived

Neighbors on the scene attempted to perform CPR before emergency responders arrived. Around 5:18 p.m., the woman was removed from under the lawnmower by the first responders. The paramedics tried to save the woman’s life. However, she passed away at 5:39 p.m. on the scene.  ~ WMAR 2 News

The cause of the incident is under investigation and the scene was turned over to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, MOSH (Maryland Occupational Safety and Health,) and the State Medical Examiner’s Office, according to Fox News in Baltimore.
