Multi-Agency ‘Historic Drug Bust’ dismantles major Eastern Shore trafficking network, 13 arrested

A sweeping, multi-agency investigation has dismantled a large-scale drug trafficking organization operating across Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Virginia, and Delaware, resulting in 13 arrests and one of the largest drug seizures in state history.
Authorities say the months-long probe began in late 2024 in Worcester County and expanded into a regional operation involving local, state, and federal partners. Investigators used surveillance, undercover operations, search warrants, and a Title III wiretap monitoring 19 phone lines to identify and disrupt the network’s leadership and supply chain. Maryland’s Governor Wes Moore referred to the operation as a “historic drug bust.”
Law enforcement officials announced the seizure of more than 42 kilograms of cocaine—described as a record-setting amount for the region—along with smaller quantities of crack cocaine, marijuana, MDMA, fentanyl pills, heroin, psilocybin mushrooms, and Suboxone. Officers also recovered 11 firearms, nearly $24,000 in cash, 11 vehicles, and two properties tied to the operation.
Officials say the organization distributed narcotics throughout the Eastern Shore, Baltimore, and parts of neighboring states, with investigators uncovering connections to a larger, transnational supply chain moving drugs across the country.
Several suspects are being held without bond on serious charges, including drug kingpin and firearms offenses, while additional arrests and indictments are expected as the investigation continues. One suspect remains wanted.
“This investigation, which began right here in Worcester County and expanded across the state and throughout the region, demonstrates our unwavering commitment to protecting our communities and holding those who traffic illegal drugs accountable,” said Worcester County Sheriff Matt Crisafulli. “This operation resulted in one of the largest drug seizures our office has ever been a part of, and that success is a direct reflection of the relentless dedication of our Criminal Enforcement Team and our law enforcement partners.”
Authorities emphasized the scale and coordination of the effort, calling it a significant blow to violent criminal networks and a major step in reducing the flow of illegal drugs into communities across the region.
