On the evening of November 15, the Los Angeles Police Department posted a chilling video to their Twitter and Facebook accounts.  The video was captured on a doorbell video camera by a resident living in a South Los Angeles neighborhood.  Viewing the video, one can clearly hear the frantic and blood curdling screams of a woman yelling, “somebody help me, please!”

The LAPD social media posts read, “On November 12 at 11:20 pm, a possible kidnap occurred on the 3000 block of 3rd Ave. A female black was seen screaming for help as she was driven away by a male black in a possible 4 door white Prius. Any info contact LAPD Southwest Detectives 213-485-2197

NBC News reported that the video was captured in the 3800 block of Third Avenue in the Leimert Park area.  Police arrived at the scene but could not discern or confirm any evidence of a criminal kidnapping – other than the doorbell video provided by the concerned citizen.

Witnesses described the car as possibly a four-door white Prius with two people inside.  The car might have plastic wrap over the front passenger side window.  One witness said it appeared a man in the driver’s seat was pulling the hair of a woman in the passenger’s seat.  ~ NBC News

Also discernible on the video is a possible male suspect yelling “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”  That Prius can be seen racing past the doorbell cam after the screaming ended.

Witnesses told police that the Prius contained two people inside as it sped off.  Fox News reported police as saying that the possible victim was an African American female around 17 to 19-years old with long braids in her hair. That female was in the passenger seat of the car while the potential kidnapper was driving.

According to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department a witness observed the victim’s hair being pulled back as she was screaming. The witness also saw plastic wrap over the front passenger side window possibly related to a prior traffic collision.  ~ Fox News

Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the female or male seen in the video is urged to contact Southwest Area Detectives at 213-485-2197.
