Country music superstars Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan, along with former Major League Baseball player Adam LaRoche, are facing a lawsuit seeking more than $1.4 million in damages following the closure of their Nashville restaurant, E3 Chophouse Nashville.
According to court filings reported between June 19 and June 23, Village 21 Investment Partners LLC and related real estate interests allege the restaurant’s owners stopped paying rent and abruptly ceased operations earlier this year, triggering a default under the property’s lease agreement.
The upscale steakhouse, located in Nashville’s popular Hillsboro Village district, opened in 2019 as a partnership involving Bryan, Aldean and LaRoche. The restaurant announced in February that it was “hitting pause” while evaluating future opportunities and potential rebranding plans. Since then, the business has remained closed.
“We’re temporarily pausing operations as we evaluate what Nashville needs next,” their statement reads. “Our team is assessing market opportunities and exploring potential rebrand and re-concept strategies for the future of this location. Stay tuned – more updates coming soon.”
The lawsuit claims the owners failed to pay rent for January and February before shutting down operations and is seeking recovery of past-due rent, interest, legal fees, and additional lease-related damages. Court documents reportedly argue that Bryan, Aldean and LaRoche personally guaranteed certain obligations under the lease agreement.
A spokesperson connected to the restaurant’s ownership group said efforts are underway to resolve the dispute and indicated that the partners were not previously aware of the latest complaint.
E3 Chophouse Nashville was the second location of the steakhouse brand. The original restaurant in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, remains in operation and is owned by LaRoche and his family.
A court hearing in the civil case is scheduled for June 26.
