(May 7. 2026) A heated argument on Facebook turned violent Tuesday night when two armed suspects opened fire on a woman’s vehicle outside a Deltona, Florida, home, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to the shooting around 11:50 p.m. on Hemingway Drive after the victim reported that she drove to the residence to confront a woman she had been feuding with online. Investigators say the encounter escalated almost immediately.
According to the victim, two people were standing in the driveway holding handguns when she arrived. She told deputies no words were exchanged before both suspects raised their weapons and fired multiple shots at her car. The woman reported seeing muzzle flashes and hearing gunfire before her rear window shattered. After fleeing the area, she discovered one of her tires had also been struck and flattened.
Detectives later identified the suspects as 29-year-old Ines Jonjic and 15-year-old Elijah Woodberry.
Authorities surrounded the home for several hours, repeatedly issuing P.A. announcements before Jonjic, her children, and Woodberry surrendered around 5:30 a.m., investigators said.
Crime scene investigators recovered two different types of shell casings from the garage area. Deputies say Jonjic admitted to firing at the vehicle, and a handgun was later recovered from her bedroom. A second firearm believed to be connected to the shooting was not found; and Woodberry reportedly denied firing any shots.
Both Jonjic and Woodberry were charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle.
Woodberry is also facing several additional charges, including possession of a firearm by a delinquent, trafficking in cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and violation of probation tied to a previous arrest and curfew restrictions. Detectives said drugs were discovered inside a backpack located in the bedroom where he was staying.
Jonjic was additionally charged after deputies allegedly found marijuana, amphetamines, prescription pills, and drug paraphernalia inside the residence and vehicles on the property. Her charges include possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a park, possession of controlled substances, possession of legend drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Sheriff’s Office said that their investigation remains ongoing.
